Movie Review.

It has been a long time since I last reviewed a movie in the theaters. I am embarrassed as all hell to say that I went to this movie but my girlfriend forced me to go to this one. Now she is forcing me to write a review for it. Sadly I am going to do it, cause she snaps that whip pretty hard.

Well the terrible movie that I am going to review is none other than "New Moon." Which should be renamed as "Teenagers are Retarded." But anyways this is the second movie of the dreadful Twilight series. Anyways it starts with the main boring characters Edward and Bell I think is her name. They are doing something together with the family of vampires and she is the only human in the room. She gets cut one guy guy attacks her Edward throws her into a piano, what a great guy and Edward dumps the dumb girl. Hahahah that was really funny cause then she just goes into a depression and is the dumbest girl I have ever seen. The writer makes sure that the girl has no backbone what so ever. She is an annoying bitch. I need to have an adrenaline rush just to see an image of Edward saying dont do this you promised me you would be safe. So the whole movie she does really dumb shit and acts as if she is a goth kid that hates everyone. She has no friends wont eat and wakes up screaming every time she sleeps. I wanted to jump in the scene and smack the bitch and say shut the fuck up god damn it you are the most unrealistic character I have ever seen in my damn life. No hot girl does this shit. Your school has one other hot chick and you would be able to rule the fucking school. But anyways it goes to show who they are trying to target, girls that want to be whinny little bitches. That have no idea about shit.

The rest of the movie was a complete bore. They had wolves but they would be of guys and they would morph into them anytime they get angry. This woman pisses me off that writes these books cause you shouldn't change the lore of vampires and werewolves. But that is something I dont want to write about cause I hate writing about this stupid movie.

So summery, Characters suck and unrealistic, affects to fast no detail, script absolutely dreadful, but the room of monkeys should be proud of fooling and stealing the money of dumb teenage girls.

I give this movie half a star out of five and would like to declare it as one of the worst movies ever.

Poor Poor Tiger

The last couple of weeks has been terrible for Tiger Woods. He had a 9 iron to the skull when his wife finally learned of his infidelity. Who ever knew that that would help Tiger's street cred, who would want to mess with a guy that took a shot like that, even though it was from a girl.

As for his cheating, I dont get it. He is Tiger Woods the world's greatest golfer, making more money per year than any other professional athlete. He could have any girl on the block and he choose women, who are not nearly as sexy as his wife. All I have to say is come on Tiger, I excepted better.

I am tired of hearing this story over and over and how many women the toll is up too. I really dont care. He is a professional athlete, shit happens. He is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world. Basketball, football, and pretty much anyone that is a professional athlete get women anytime they want and the bad thing is they dont have to try, I dont understand why this is new.

Now we all know what is going to happen, he is going to come out and say he is a sex addict and that to save his marriage and his money he will go into counseling. I dont see the problem because every guy has a sex addict, but we dont have the money or fame to have it all the time.

The grammy's.

I must say I really didn't watch much of the Grammy's on Wednesday. It really didn't interest me to see who the contestants are for this years award show. I really dont see the point. I don't care, and I can not believe that people would really watch it. But anyways LL Cool J was hosting this show and my god he licks his lips more than anyone I have ever seen. I didn't watch it very long because I found my self counting the number of times that he licks them. I counted eight times before he introduced the black eyed peas to play. He would do it after every sentence. He has a problem.

Thank the advertising world for this.

This had to of come out when all of the guitar hero ads came out. It is a cool what they did for risky business but it can turn to be hilarious. This girl hit the ground harder than a box of rocks.

Not in a great mood

I must say I have had one hit after another today. I didn't get the job I interviewed for (which I started to expect after the end of last week) and I had a great message about an opportunity for a job that found it's way to my spam folder. I didn't get it and now I am waiting on pens and needles to see if they will respond back to me.

J.Lo has lost it.

Jennifer Lopez use to have talent right? Searching the deepest crevices of my memory banks I am not that sure. I remember that she had a few hit songs when she first started the scene but I really think it was because of the music videos.

Last night was terrible though. She came out to a boxing ring, she wanted to look like a boxer so she put a robe on. What I learned from the perfomance is that she can't dance anymore and the kids that she has had did a number on her body. She wore loose clothes that made her look frumpy and very unappealing. Her song was two sentences long that she just repeated fifty or more times. "I am thrown on my Louis Vuittons." Really, that was one of the sentences. I think it really just showed her as a fraud.

The best part about the performance is watching her fall on her fat ass.

J.Lo you suck.

Fantasy Sports.

This is the first year that I have ever participated in any type of fantasy sports game. It all started because courosity finally took over me. All my friends did it and they were talking all about it so I decided to look into it.

It started with the NFL a couple of months ago. I did the draft and selected my players. I really didn't know what was going on, I just selected players the computer told me to select, and some I just liked. I didn't know there is a science to it. If I did I would have selected different people all together, it would have made it easier for me. I didn't really think I drafted that bad of a team I mean I had Farve, Rothlesberger, McNabb as my QB's. Colston, Wayne, and Bolden as my WR. Daniels, and Winslow JR as TE. Moreno, Parker, McClain, and Forte as my RB's, which turned out to be trouble cause the first couple of weeks they couldn't score to save their lives. So I dumped Parker and McClain cause they had an average of 0 after three or four weeks. It was really interesting to watch my team go. There are not the best by any means but they are consistent. I just have to have the team that I am playing score under 80 and I would win.

I ended up using the waiver wire a little bit this year. I will say I had too much trust in some of my players though and I didn't dump them off until late but this is my first year and I thought I would be patient with it. My team isn't that bad right now at all I am first in the league at 9-2.

I used the information that I learned from football and put it into the NBA fantasy. I think I have an advantage in that one cause I know way more about basketball than I do about football. Watching it for so many years I kind of have an eye for who will be good and who wont. It is something I picked up when I played. I wish I attended the draft but it got pushed back so many times I didn't know when it was going to happen. But I have a good team, not a great one we are winning but I dont know for how long though.

I am addicted to these fantasy games. I need to go to therapy.

Rabbits are cookie monsters

This is proof. All these years I thought Santa came and ate the cookies I put out for Christmas, but it was really rabbits. How dare they. I know they are cute and cuddly little creatures but that doesn't give them the right to steal my cookies. They give you the innocent eyes with floppy ears combo and you never think they would be so evil.

Art

I must say after watching this video I really wanted to buy this artwork. The works in the first room were my favorite. If I would be able to make my pick I would choose the one with the bird on it. The way that the artist used bright and dark colors is really cool, it doesn't seem like there are any mid tones in it. The use of pink really drew me into these works. These are really well done. The song in the video is a little strange but cool none this less.

Lately,

Lately I have forgotten about the original purpose of this blog and I am sorry. It is really just for me to get thoughts out of my head as quick as I can. Those thoughts have really slowed down over the past couple of months I know. But I have been busy. But I plan to fix that. I will still be quick at the hip spelling words wrong, using the wrong tenses, words and so on it is just who I am. I just want to write. I dont really care about how I get there as long as I get these words out of my head. I really need to start rereading what I write so I can make it better, and I think I will make a better effort when I am finished with this one, it wont start with this one but this is going to be my last unedited rant. I need to keep the practice up of editing. I do it for my work I need to start doing it for my blog. It may not be perfect at first but I will work on it. I will also work on writing some fiction cause I have gotten away from that and I really want to write some stories. I will tell you if they are ruff drafts, cause I dont reread anything until I am finished with it.

Waiting.

Last week I had an interview at an Ad agency. They flew me out there and put me up in a really nice place to rest my head. I was interviewed by some really nice people at the agency, and I had a really great time. I didn't want to leave when the interview was done. Everyone there had so much passion for what they do they made me want to be apart of it. Passion like that is contagious, and it makes the experience all so much better.

I will say that going into the interview I was a little worried, they had a client that comes with some baggage, and that would be the client I would work on. I was excited for the opportunity dont get me wrong but I was hesitant on the client. But I quickly blew through my unease just by talking to the people and looking at the recent work they have been working on. I must say it is amazing. With all of the obstacles they have to go through to get the message out it is amazing that they still do really strong work. I would think the work would dominate some of the award shows but they don't show it.

I should be hearing about the opportunity latter this week. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I really want this job, this is an agency and a client that I really would like to work for, but it is out of my hands right now. I have been waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it. I sent thank you's to them, and I can not stop thinking that I might have spelled a name wrong or whatever. I know I checked everything over but I am still worried. It isn't like having an email where you can just look to see who you sent it to and what you said, it is a card the US postal service has in their hands. I am confident I did it correctly but I dont want to leave it up to chance.

Ad agencies reach out to the under world.

This is an ad for Mini Cooper believe it or not. They teamed up with KR a graffiti artist to create this. They really did a cool job with it using the lines of the Cooper with the lines of the fresh paint. It is becoming more and more evident that major organizations are turning to these underground artist to sell their products (Nike, Addidas and so on). They are using them because they are different and create an edge to the product that they are trying to sell. Some people see this as selling out, but it is just creating a larger audience for what they do. And one thing that everyone learns eventually that a starving artist is usually not very good.

Complete and total failure while parking

I am glad I didn't park there. That person seemed as if they where trying to do something to these peoples car. How do you hit the accelerator when you are trying to park. That just doesn't make any sense to me. I must say as a monster truck fan though the BMW had great form. Just hit the gas a little more and it would be up and over the other cars.

I can only think about what the people thought when they walked out to get their car. I bet they wondered, why does my hood have tire marks on it, and why is my windshield all smashed up. Was there rocks falling from the sky, or did my car just participate in a monster truck rally.

Douchebag Solidarity.

I must say this is a cause that everyone can join. You just have to admit that you are a douchebag and get on with it. It is time we done shy away from who we are but rise up as one and say yes I am a douchebag. If you have ever been called a douchebag it is time to accept it and become one of us. It is as easy as pushing little kids in pools.

This video is awesome. I just couldn't stop laughing, they are a great representation of douchebags.

I am back in NYC

Yesterday I landed back in NYC, one of my favorite places. I came for the Miami Ad School portfolio review that is going on tomorrow. There are many different agencies that are going to come and check out our books. I am excited for it to happen. I hope they come look at my book but if they dont, I have their emails and their numbers that I can raise some hell. I am hoping some good will come of this but I just dont know yet.

I can not believe I missed this last week!

Well first off I would like to congratulate Barack Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. That is a huge accomplishment for anyone in the world to put on the shelf. He really deserved this award cause he, well he...oh shit he has never done anything and some how he wins.

It really seems to be a thing with him. He was something that I can not remember before he was elected to Senate, a community organizer I think. And he didn't do anything drastic for the community. He was in the Senate where he definitely didn't do anything except show up, because he needed it to be on the record. But showing up doesn't mean voting for anything. He could have and someone else click his buzzer to present for all I know and he becomes president. Lets face it, he hasn't really done anything except give us more debt as president either.

In school they teach us that an award like the peace prize is given to those who do the most for the world to keep the peace. I never thought they would give it to a guy that just talked about peace to win an election, and never taking action for it.

Some people might say that he has strengthened our allies trust in us, our allies supported Bush too, not to mention, Clinton, Bush, Regan, you get the point. The world has learned from WWI and WWII, they don't want another fiasco. Of course our allies got interested in Obama, he is our leader. They wanted to see who the guy was and what he stood for. But he really hasn't done anything to strengthen our foreign relationships.

Last but not least how pitiful is our Nobel judging system allowing someone that has been all talk win their award. I really think they have made a mockery this year of the award. If there is no one worth giving it to, dont give it to anyone.

Obama should never accept this award, not to mention they should have never given it to him.

Going back to my college town

I must say that it has been a long time since I went back to Iowa City to spend some time there. I think it was in the summer of 07 to be exact. I know many things have changed since I was last there but somethings stayed the same. It is the weekend of the Michigan game. It is probably the biggest home game of the year. It will show if Iowa is for real or not. Both teams are going in with good records so far in the season. Iowa has a 5-0 record and Michigan coming off of the terrible season last year is at the 4-1 mark. Both teams have played games that have come very close to going the other way, especially Michigan. It is going to be interesting to see who's luck continues and whose runs out.

Iowa is going to win though. The guys have to be pumped up after last weeks hair razor. As long as they dont pack it in during the second half they should be good. All they need is to play consistently throughout the game to win. But that is easier said than done. They usually play very well for a half but not an entire game. I think this is the game that the do it, and they come away with the W. I am not one of those people that think they will run the table, but I do think they will win all but two of there games this year.

Joe Francais is a douche

This is the security footage of the night that Joe Francis attacked Playmate Jayde Nicole. It looks like she spills a drink on him and then he goes ape shit over it grabbing her by the hair and taking her down to the ground. I really can not believe it, I thought that the guy that created all of those movies where he asks drunk chicks to take off there clothes for a Tshirt would be a lot classier than this. I guess I was wrong. He also later said

"Jayde Nicole is an absolute and total liar. Her prior statements about the incident are not only slanderous and defamatory, but actionable. The only thing that Jayde Nicole is famous for is having a tattoo of the word “respect” above her vagina … for which we all know she has none of.”

I am guessing he tried to use his fame to get some with a playmate and failed miserably. Just listening to this guy in interviews you can really tell that he is a douche. He thinks he is cooler than he really is. He 'Girls Gone Wild' franchise was the smartest thing this guy has ever done, and I can't believe this jackass came up with it.

Review of the Cleveland Show.

Seth Macfarlane has created another cartoon based television show after the hit series Family Guy. This one unlike the very lame American Dad is a spin off of the original. It uses the character Cleveland as he leaves the group to start his own show. He and his son that you haven't seen since the beginning of Family Guy go down to Virginia to start a new life. Well they get stuck in Virginia at least. Cleveland Jr, his son was a hyper spastic kid when he appeared on FG now he is just a fat slug.

Now for the review of the show. I wanted to wait to see two episodes before I gave my opinion, giving the show the benefit of the doubt. Premieres are always hard to do and only a few shows have done it right. I got the same conclusion on last nights show as I did the original, IT SUCKS. First of all why would you set a series on a guy that you used as brief comic relief. The house blows up and he is in the bath tub only to fall to the ground saying no no no no. Sometimes he had a funny part but not many times. Quagmire would have a way better series. Second the show is just not that funny. They try and do the same thing that FG does with the flashbacks and stuff and that is stupid, make it original. Cleveland isn't funny without the rest of the FG characters.

The only thing that I think is funny about the show is the little kid, and he is only funny one out of the five things he tries to say. The show is awful and I hope it gets pulled. I haven't been this disappointed since Macfarlane drew American Dad. I recommend not watching this show.

I have started looking for a job.

Last week I offically started looking for a job. I called a ton of ad agencies just getting the name and email of someone so I can contact them to get a job. I sent everything out this Monday. A nice coverletter and then a link to my website. I think I have only gotten two or three responses out of all the emails that I sent and I sent like 50. I even less responses when I called them all. Only two or three people really answered their phone. I dont know what it was but no one answered. It sucked, why couldn't someone just give me a job when I got out of the school, it would have made it so much easier than what I am doing now. I mean leaving messages and emails that people are not looking at or answering really sucks. Today no one called me back, same with yesterday. I guess I just need to hit this harder than I am right now. Next week I am going to call and send 30 emails a day. if I send that many one or two would have to bit now wouldn't they?

Ann Sather Review

Today I finally decided that I should wake up and go have breakfast at Ann Sather. Ever since I have been in Chicago I have wanted to go to the restaurant cause it never seemed as if it was open except for in the morning. I never got it.

I had the Southern decadence, which is eggs over sausage over biscuits with gravy over it all. It was good. But the best part of the experience was ordering two sides to go with it. I ordered cinnamon rolls and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were ok but the cinnamon rolls were amazing. I have never had rolls that good. I really recommend going there and ordering them. When I go home I think I will order some and take them back home with me.

The meal was good but the rolls were great. They give you two and it is like you might not need anything else. I got the rolls early and first and I was stuffed. But if I went back I think I would just get the rolls cause they are the best thing that I had. That is why I give the restaurant only 3 stars.

Oprah Party.

Today is the Oprah Party for her 24th season hear in Chicago. She has Michigan Ave closed off if you can believe it or not. Right in front of the Wrigley building, where I just so happen to work right now they have a stage. They have James Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, Black Eyed Peas, and Rascal Flatts preforming. Right now they are going through rehearsals with the bands so they can have sound checks before 5. It seems pretty cool. They have been sounding alright, I have gone and watched them all day.

I am hoping that when I go to the lobby that I might be able to catch a glimpse of someone famous. That is because they are using our lobby as a staging area where they all sit and get their makeup on. It is really interesting. I have heard the girl I want to see Fergie is suppose to be really small. I want to see her and some of the flatts so I can brag to my girlfriend that I saw them and she didnt.

One interesting note, if you watch the concert and they show you this girl dancing the entire time in front of the stage with a blue shirt know this, she is a payed dancer. Her and her group behind her have their own little bared section so they can go through their own dance ruttiness. They are ok but I dont want people to think that they actually came and danced like that. They have a pretty big area that they took over right in the center so they can be in the middle of everything, kinda BS right?

Another thing about those dancers is that they spent the entire day trying to teach people what to do during certain songs. so the entire crowd can have the same dance. It is cool but lame at the same time. It is cool for the fact that if everyone does it it is very visually cool, but lame for the fact that they have been teaching the crowd since 11am today. It is also lame that one of the guys in charge got on the mic and said, "If you don't dance the way we say when the camera is on you we will not film you, if you jump up and down when you see the camera we will not film you, if you dance like we tell you to we might film you." But then they have a camera man right in front of the dance group so what ever, they are going to be all over that telecast. The more I write about it the more I hate it, Let people enjoy themselves at a concert dont tell them what to do. Where is the fun in that? Let them be themselves not what these dancers want, dance your own way people stick it to Oprah's people. And I will probably be killed for saying that.

(UPDATE)
I went to ground level to check out the beginning performance by the black eyed peas and the crowds dance moves, it gave me chills it was so cool. I could feel Michigan ave bouncing up and down. It was so cool what a great way to start it all off. Unbelievable.

Blue man group.

This past saturday my girlfriend took me to the Blue Man Group. They were a lot of fun and I really recommend going to see them when ever you can. They are not just a musical group but they also do a lot of funny bizarre things that entertain their packed house. It is amazing how many marshmallows a man can catch in his mouth without swallowing them. He only missed two of them out of an entire bag, that in it's self was amazing. They where even rapid fire to him.

They were really cool I really suggest seeing them. They where really funny and really good at what they do. I recommend not coming late though they stop the show for you and video tape you getting your seat.

I didn't get to see it on a big stage like this only the stage that they have shows in chicago which is an awesome building, really wacky and cool.

I give it five out of five stars.

pretty cool stuff.

Just found this on Youtube and thought I would share it. It is very interesting, I haven't heard this sound come out of a guitar besides just messing around on one by accident.

Inglorious Bastards

Awesome title to a movie in my opinion. But did it live up to the hype?

Last night I went to go see the new Quenton Tarantino movie and this is my review. I must say first and foremost that I am not the biggest Tarantino fan in the world, most times I try to stay away from his movies at all cost. But this one I couldn't stay away from because it is a movie that is set in one of the most interesting times in my opinion, WWII. I am a sucker for things about the war, Allies versus the Axis, how the powers at be became who they are and how they were able to influence so many people on their rise to power. But I can talk your ear off about that another day.

The movie opens up and although I think it is very unique how Tarantino opens his movies and cuts in them I dont like them. I dont like to read that it is Chapter 1, 2,or 12, honestly I dont really care, just tell me the story. I will say that the first scene was a really good one. A dairy farmer in a house that has people hiding and living in it. This to me showed the tough time that people had trying to hid people that the Nazi's where looking for. I really liked it. But it really left me wondering about more. After the Nazi's killed the people hiding did they turn their guns on the people in the house, my vote, yes, but then again they never showed it.

There is a very interesting character in the first scene. He is very convincing and how couldn't he be, he is a man from the SS. It is just amazing how smart that character is, I mean look at him he speaks three languages in the first fifteen minutes of the film, he later speaks another one. He has the diplomacy of a gentleman but the ruthlessness of a man on destructive mission.

The first scene with Brad Pitt and his Bastards was also pretty cool. He laid out what they where going to do and how. He said "Each one of you owes me 100 Nazi scalps, and I want my scalps." That was pretty cool how ruthless he really was. I also thought it was interesting the marking on his coat. It is a big red arrow head, that looks as if it says Canada on it. which is funny cause there was a battalion I think it could have been Canadian that did very intense training out in the wilderness, I forget there names but they would go out at night and go over enemy lines and cause havoc. Leaving their symbol in places where the Germans where located to cause hell.

But other than the first couple of moments I thought the movie became slow and bogged down. I really thought that there was going to be more action with the Bastards since that is what every preview really focus's on. I didnt think that there was going to be three different stories going on at the same time. It really disappointed me. I went in to the movie to see the Bastards Kick some ass. Some of the stories were interesting as well. The escaped jewish girl from the first scene makes her way back into the film and is one of the stories, it was interesting. She has a theater that a German guy who is in a movie looks to put his premiere in. She shows no interest but he persists on chasing her. His character does a drastic change at the end, it surprised me. But then the movie that he was in portrayed an act of valor when he was a soldier so whatever.

There was a one scene that was completely unnecessary, it spent all this time introducing this character that gets killed 30 min later. His character was very dull and boring. He actually sucked in my opinion. And I sat in the theater saying why did you waste my time with some english toff that you are going to kill in the next scene. Was it so you could just show that he knows his German movies? That is boring. Show me the fighting of the Bastards, that is what I want to see. You could have summed it up for when he meets up with the bastards, all he would have to say is "I am here to meet a German movie star and escort her to a movie that we are going to sabotage." Simple and easy enough. Cause we went from 1941 to 1944 in a scene and you wonder if all of the bastards are still alive or if any get picked off, well they are all alive but they grow by getting other people. My question kinda was why didnt they form with some french resistance members or anything?

I might be going way to indepth with my analysis but thats fine, I hope. That is really all I am going to give away about the movie. I was a very entertaining movie non the less but it wasn't that action packed. I found the middle was very slow and boring, and it is like all of the other Tarantino movies that I have watched. Starts fast, gets you attention and drags it out for a couple of hours, then it ends fast. For me it is like he can cut out the middle and still have a good movie.

I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. It was funny and entertaining exactly what a movie should be, just a little too long.

It's my Birthday.

I have officially been on the planet for 26 years as of today. Wether that is a good or bad thing is up to you. I feel like I am getting older and older. It use to not bother me because I was in the prime. Now college has come and gone and I have to join the real world so I am starting to feel a little older and older. It is ok cause now I can maybe enjoy some of the finer things if I ever get a job.

Favorite game at the office.

My favorite game that I play at the office would have to be ping pong basketball. My cube mate and I have a ping pong ball and a cup. We hang the cup in the middle of our cubicles and shoot the ball into it. We dont do it all of the time but we shoot a couple of times a day. It is actually really hard because you have to be seated while you shoot the ball, and it is located kinda close to the ceiling so you have too be careful not to hit the ceiling. There hasn't been very many made since we started keeping track but I am ahead 8 to 3.

Said sucks at the game. Said is my cube mate not a verb it's a person.

Moving again.

Well my lease is officially up for the place that I am subleasing here in Chicago, and I am moving into a friends place for a couple of weeks. I never really unpack any of my stuff cause I always know that I will just have to pack it up again and go. I am accustom to live out of a suitcase, since I have since I started this blog back in January.

I dont unpack so I dont have to pack again. I found that unpacking just to pack again in a couple of months is really boring and time consuming. I just fold my clothes after I wash them and put them back in the suitcase, so I can go whenever I need to. Some people call me crazy, they are like you are living there for three months why dont you unpack? After you explain it they still look at you like your crazy, but to get out of the conversation you just have to say, "Oh my god a fire breathing dragon fly," and jump for cover. Works every time.

I hope someday I will be able to find a place and unpack, but it doesnt really seem like today. But I can hope and dream.

Excited for football!

Finally sports resume again this weekend. After the long summer of boredom, sports is returning with a vengence. The NCAA Football starts this weekend. I know I will sit down hours just to watch the games. The first game I plan to see is my Iowa Hawkeyes play a warm up against UNI. Northern Iowa isn't a slouch either, it's just that they can not compete against a big program like Iowa.

There are going to be a lot of good games this year cause I think that every passing year the game just gets better and better.

They say that the Big Ten conference is going to be down this year again. I really do not agree with the experts. I do agree that there is one team that is always on top, Ohio State, but anyone can beat anyone in that league. It is really amazing how teams that dont have a chance can pull out a win. I will admit it isn't a top level conference but it doesnt deserve the dogging that it has gotten the past couple of years. The season always ends to early there are still teams that play while the big ten sits on it's ass.

Lets go Hawkeyes, future big ten champs.

I am really getting tired of bikes on the subway.

For some reason the past couple of trips that I have taken on the subway has had someone with a bike on it. This is during rush hour where there really isnt that much room on the subway. Some reason I think that Chicago's subway is much smaller than NYC but I am not interested to much in confirming that fact.

But anyways back to the bike. It is a form of transportation you shouldnt need to take another form of transportation along with it. If you biked there it is healthy for you and you wont be in my way. The city of Chicago is really not that big. Or even take a bus, they should have a place for you to put your damn bike on while you ride so it doesnt have to be in the way of all the passengers. It really is just a huge reck waiting to happen.

Personally an invention that you bikers should make is how to put it on the side of the train where it is completely out of the way. But that would be too simple, almost as simple as bringing your own form of transportation on a transportation system.

I am thinking about buying a smart car just so I can drive it through the doors of the train. How do you like me now.

I am always in for a good cat video

There is just something about cat videos that makes me keep watching them. I like cats and have two of them but sometimes they are the weirdest creatures I have ever seen. They really just do what ever it is that they want. Sometimes you think that they are really smart for what they do or you have a really dumb one. I think they are just like people some are smart some are dumb but they all have dumb moments.

Benjamin Button

Last night I rented "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and watched it with my girlfriend. I had been excited to see this movie ever since it came out in theaters, and last night was my first opportunity to do so.

I thought that the movie was ok, not something that was worth all of the hype they put around it when it first came out. I found the acting to be really cheesy and the story line way to predictable. I found myself filling in the blanks way way before the story was told. That made it boring for me. I don't like to sit there and guess what is going to happen only to see it happen instantly. To me the only thing that was interested was the guy that said he had been hit with lightning seven different times. I found that funny but really odd, it was like the man was always there for some odd reason.

Brad Pitt did ok in his role but it really wasn't that great of one. The character never changed throughout the movie, very stagnate. Moving from place to place and some how there was only one person that understood that he was getting younger. I dont know how that could be. The jumps of ages where ridiculous. I mean really at one time he looked like he was 70 then it was 50 then he was 30 for a long ass time.

The girl got really annoying, she liked him, she hated him, she liked him, she hated him, she loved him, she let him go, only to get back with him at the end. She had no depth as an actress in my opinion, she never made me believe. for a while she never aged it was ridiculous. She looked the same until the very end when she was an adult.

One thing I really didn't like about the movie as well was the time that it was set. They put no tension in it. No one seemed to care what color skin was on the other person, they where equals. Sure there was some moments of racism but that was for about five seconds when he was on the bus with the guy. Then they had a Cherokee Indian on the tug boat that made no sense to me. They would have never allowed that in the military at that time. He would be on the front lines cause he was part of the military code that was used at that time.

They introduced characters left and right but you never got to know any of them. Such as his sister fro Queeny. I mean she had one role and that was it. I dont even know if she is the one at the end who said he is with us or not. I think it would be but her character really fells short. I never got the connection of the characters other than the love which I also thought was week.

I give this movie 1 and a half out of five starts. I would recommend people stay away from it.

People are stupid

Everyday I look for something to entertain me as we all do, and everyday I find really weird videos and ask myself, are they really this stupid? Do they really think that this act will make them rich and famous?

Yes people are this stupid, it happens all of the time. There seems to be someone out there that wants to beat someone else's stupidity, it is a dumb verses dumber act out there. Only the the dumb survive.

I hope they don't think that some of this stuff will make them famous. Do you really want to be famous for lighting yourself on fire?

I know that I can be dumb sometimes but I am never that dumb.

Damn Farve.

I was all about Farve coming to the Vikings earlier this year. But now I really don't think that it is a good idea. I wanted him there for training camp, so he can mesh with the players. But he said that he was going to stay retired and now he isnt. I think it is too late for him to come and make a big difference.
I really have mixed feelings about this because I think he is one of the greatest QB's to ever play. He will help the Vikings from the get go because he is a vast improvement over the two they are using now. If his health stays up I could see the Vikes going back to the playoffs with a first week bye.
My only fear is that he joined the team too late.

I feel like crap

Last night I had a little malfunction with my contacts, again. Some how every couple of years the same thing happens over and over. My contacts get something in them when I am asleep and starts to cut my eye. Now my right eye is all bloodshot and in pain. Thankfully I woke up before it could cut deeper. I have had it where If I look at light it causes the greatest pain that i have ever had.

Today really sucks but by tomorrow my eye should be somewhat back to normal. Someday I am going to get that lazer surgery and forget about stupid glasses and contact lens'. I hope to do it as soon as I get a job. That way I will have some backing to pay for it. Then I wouldnt have to go through this shit.

Yeah I am in CMYK magazine.

On saturday I heard some really awesome news. One of the ads I did is going to be in CMYK magazine in October. One of my partners for that project called me all the way from India to tell me the good news. I am really excited, it is the first time I have ever been published in a magazine. I have tried several times to get some of my writing samples in a magazine but it never has any luck at all. I really can not believe that I am actually going to be published.
The work that is getting published was for Northface. My partners did a really awesome job photo shopping it and I think I wrote a good line to go with it. I am just excited to get a magazine that will display my work and have my name next to it, it is really cool.

Love it.

Thinking that every girl should get one.

This is why I do what I do.

This is an example why I want to be in advertising. This ad is long not a conventual ad that you would see on TV but it is still great. It keeps you interested from start to finish. It informs people that don't know anything about the brand to know the brand. They have a well know Scottish actor to do the voice and to be in it. He is in one of my favorite movies Trainspotting. I want to write something like this really bad. I will have my time and I will do it.

Stripper pole and Miley Cyrus.

No surprise that a performer causes a stir after a performance at some show. Last night it was Miley Cyrus who caused the ruckus at the Teen Choice Awards. Even though the show hasn't aired yet there is leaked footage of the teeny bopper standing next to a pole. Some reason the pole is on an ice cream cart, nothing like cold strippers and ice cream. It really wasn't even that provocative but some news organization is going crazy over it. Saying that a girl shouldn't do things like that and wear that skimpy of an outfit on it. Well the outfit really isn't the problem. You see girls showing off what they have more and more. She wore shorts and a shirt that really isn't that provocative. I see girls wear that stuff all the time, and even shorter ones than what she had on. As for the pole, she didnt do anything with it. She didn't dance (not that she can) on it or anything she held the damn thing for balance big whoop. When I first saw the story I thought she was going to do something crazy then it was just lame.

People turn down free beer.

When you hear "Free beer and food," you would think people would come running wouldn't you? I thought so too. I mean that is what I did when I heard it. I made a B-line straight to the party.
I went to the Optimus party in Downtown Chicago. It is a production house that throws a huge party every year. It is where they invite all the ad agencies around and they just supply everything.
But when I tried to get some of my friends to come saying hey there is free beer and food here they didnt want to come. I told them not to worry about it and that they should come anyways. But they didnt. So that is why I writing this post because I never thought in a million years that people would deny free beer. I mean when you give anything out for free people come, but if you give beer out I always thought people would break down the door. I was wrong. I really couldnt believe it.
Ask yourself would you go for free beer and be in a huge party or would you back out?

I really liked this video when I viewed it. It does a really good job with color and a story. It is interesting and very visually cool. I hope you like.

We Just got done.

Today was the last day that I will be working on Labatt Blue. My intern team and I finally presented our final. I really just want to go home and pass out. I was up yesterday from 8am-6am. Then I woke back up at 8am because we had to get ready to pitch. It has been a really interesting week. No sleep and a lot of work. I hope the work is good.

Monday, August 3, 2009

Working on the intern project.

For the rest of the week we will be working on an intern project, Labatt Blue. I think I have already mentioned this earlier but right now I can not remember. This week is crunch time, it has to be finished by Thursday to present it to the judges. We are working off of a cool idea but I am finding myself stuck with headlines right now. I dont really know where to go with it. So I sit and look at other ads for inspiration, I hope I find it so I can get the headlines done by today.

Thursday, July 30, 2009

So I am not going to have a life for a week

I have been bombarded with a ton of work to do, and it is all due next week. It is going to be a lot of fun dont get me wrong, I mean I even get to pitch to Energy's ECD Dan for Labatt Blue. I think that will be awesome. And the other things are really cool things that I can either put in my book or just say that I have experience doing. My schedule is packed and I love it for that. I hate not having anything to do, but now I have too much. At least I will be busy.

Cool new ad.

This is why I want to be in the biz. I want to make cool stuff like this. I know I know you are probably saying but aren't you a writer, this is all visual. Yeah I know but a script was written for that. Everything detailed out before anyone started to shoot it. You don't just go into a shoot with an idea in your head, it has to be refined to the essentials then it is ready for production. Sometimes even the best scripts don't make it, because the client doesn't see eye to eye with it.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Late night

Last night I was at the agency until 1am thinking of scripts that I had to write. I hope the scripts go over well since they are being presented right now. I have a feeling that if they like them we will have to rewrite them anyways but that is ok, I am more than happy to do that. I just want to get something done.

Friday, July 17, 2009

The thoughts are just not coming.

I have been working on a client all week. I have filled out a ton of ideas for where it can go. Some they liked some they didnt. I am happy to see one of the strategies my partner and I had still up on the board. People are writing stuff off of our idea which is cool and we are writing scripts off of theirs. I guess we are trying to give it a fresh new perspective.

We are having a difficult time thinking of scripts. We have written scripts but they have been boring and lame right now. Or at least that is my opinion on the matter. Hopefully something can get done soon because we are running out of time.

Intern Project

Here at Energy BBDO we are having an intern project. They split us in half and are having us work on Labatt Blue. We created our own agencies (of which I wasn't their for), and treat it like new business. We get to do pitches in front of our piers as if it was real.

It is really interesting that they chose to give us Labatt Blue. I really have not thought about that beer since I was last in Canada when my father and I drank a couple of cases when we were out in a boat. It is a good beer that no one really knows about. Well it isnt that good, except when you go out in the wilderness. Being out in a boat all day I really can not imagine a better beer to have in hand. It isn't heavy or thick it just goes down. Kind of like a Bud Light except in my opinion it has more flavor to it.

It will be interesting to see what our group comes up with. Right now my AD and I are waiting for a brief that should be coming by the end of this weeks sometime we hope. It will come down to a competition between the two Ad schools, Miami vs VCU, who will come out victorious?

I had a good weekend

This weekend I went up to a lake house in Wisconsin. I think the name of the town near by was called Laval or something. I went with my girlfriend. We only spent one day on the lake but it was fun. We left early, probably to early for a person that stayed out the night before until about 3 or 330. I got two angry phone calls around 7am about not being ready to go. The first call was the one that woke me up. That was fine because it gave me time to uninflate the blow up matress that I have been living on for the week. But in my girlfriends opinion I did not deflate it properly. My own body weight doesnt work well enough. I think the second call was the angriest because I wasn't waiting for her outside. But since I am a guy and I only have one thing to pack it didnt take me long at all to get the car packed. But she is a good GF when I got in the car and got over it quickly.

At the lake there was crazyness going on. We showed up there around 12 or so and the party was just beginning. They drove in right behind us with ten cases of beer for the day. Nothing to crazy but the night went on. To have some pretty bazar things happen, but overall it wasnt as crazy as the night before.

I had a good weekend.

A great man died this week.

Oscar Mayer died on monday and this is the first I am hearing of it. The man that brought hotdogs to all has passed away silently. The world will miss the man.
I wonder if he is going to have the Wienermobile at his funeral. Would that be his hurst or something? Would they make a hotdog casket? You have to admit that would be really cool. Everyone else settles for crappy wood ones why not be buried in a hotdog. It would be fitting he does have the most recognizable hotdogs on the planet.

My Bologna has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R
My bologna has a second name, it's M-A-Y-E-R
Oh, I love to eat it every day,
And if you ask me why I'll say...
'Cuz Oscar Mayer has a way..
With B-O-L-O-G-N-A.

Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener
That is what I'd truly like to be
'Cuz if I were an Oscar Mayer wiener
Everyone would be in love with me

I love my job.

It is great when you wake up and you are excited to go to work. It gives you a sense of purpose in the world, there is never a dull moment.
I am really happy that I have found a job that I can not wait to get to. I am glad that I am past the point of saying "God I have to go into work again." My mode of transportation is not fast enough to get me there.
I hope you all work in a place that you want to get up and work at.

I am tired of the has been.

I am really tired of all of this coverage of Michael Jackson. They sold tickets to his funeral, come on, you bitch about him being in the public eye so much and then run a circus like that. They are searching for attention it seems like. They even had major news organizations covering the funeral live.
This is all for a person who hasn't done anything in over a decade except touch little children and pay them off with large sums of money. Does a Pedophile need all of this attention for his death, I think not.
I am really sick of all this coverage, it is just like that Anna Nicole bullshit but it will last longer unfortunately. Our news organizations should start covering more important things that actually effect people. Let the celeb gossip cover it.

It has been a while.

I know it has been a while since I last post but I have been moving yet again to a new city. I am starting to think that I move to much, 15 times in five years is ridiculous. But this is for another good reason. I am starting my summer internship today. I haven't really done much but it is the first day, when do you do anything in your first day.
I moved to Chicago this past weekend. But I still haven not unpacked my suitcase. Unpacking is always the last thing I do. I will live in a place for a week before I put one thing away. I guess my thought behind it is that I move so much that what is the point of taking things out that I will just have to put back in there in a few months. I hope one day I will be able to live in a place for longer but until then I will have to cope.

Tough day to be a United fan.

So today I started like any other day, woke up, took a shower, got dressed and browsed the internet before I went to work. To my shock I looked at my home page, which is the wonderful ESPN.com; which shouldnt come as a surprise being that I am a boy and all but an article on there caught my attention right away. Real Madrid pays $131M for Ronaldo. I clicked it thinking they where just bidding to try to get the mega star like they did last year, but nope. They payed $131 million, £80M, €93.9M god damn that is a lot of money.
He is one of the greatest players on the planet right now and he is only 24 so that means he has at least 6-7 years of top form still to play. This comes off of the heals of another deal that Madrid made this week for Brazilian Kaka that was for $97M. So to sum it up they have the right and left side of their offense locked down perfectly with two of the best at their positions.
I never thought Manchester United would have gotten rid of Ronaldo. I thought he was going to stay there for a few more years especially when he releases statements about this is where he wants to be. He had always dreamed about playing for Madrid, and there was always a commotion about him leaving the Devils for them the last couple of years. But this year he really seemed as if he wanted to stay. I didn't think Sir Alex was going to let him go either but I guess in these troubled times when someone throws that much money at you, you have to take it. I am going to be sad watching the Devils play without #7, I am sure they will find another one, but he will be a project like Ronaldo was after he replaced Beckham in 2003.
Another thing I realized looking at this article is that the US currency has really gone to shit. I know that it has taken some knocks but I expected it to make somewhat of a comeback.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Yeah

I have finally reached 100 wins in ESPN's streak for cash. I thought I would have done it sooner but last month I ran into trouble. I piled on a lot of losses that month and it really set me back. I am back on track now, I can feel that cool mill in my hands, I have four victories in a row right now, I just need 20 or 30 more and I think I will have it in the bag.

Saved by the Bell reunion?

Monday night on the Jimmy Fallon late night show Zach Morris came back to introduce his new show (honestly I dont care). But this was a funny clip that is a blast from the past. It has been 15 years since the show ended with the original cast. It is about time for a reunion, millions will watch it if they know about it. I wasnt much for the show when I was younger but I would watch a reunion.

Funny movie trailer.

Watching all the videos I do She is one of my favorites.

I really enjoy watching her videos. I find them absolutely hilarious. It makes me think twice about interacting with a pregnant woman as well, I dont want to deal with that, maybe someday just not today. I really suggest that you watch all of her videos about her trying to get some while being pregnant, they are really funny. I hope this is not her last one, I want to see her try her wild side a little more.

Amazing

This was just released at E3 which is a big time video game event that tells everyone the latest technology coming out and looks at new games. This shapes the future of not only gaming but what we can do in our day to day lives.

This new controller for the Xbox 360 is absolutely revolutionary, more so then the one for the Wii. I am really exited for this to come out, I hope they get really cool games to back it up.

Movie review on Pixars UP.

Pixar has done it again! Another great movie by the best animated shop in Hollywood. Every movie they come out with is better then the last.

Last night I went with some friends to see the newly released Pixar movie UP. Which is about a old man that befriends a young boy on his way to an adventure. They find themselves in South America trying to put the old man's house on Paradise Bluff, which is where he and his wife dreamed about going for their entire life. They meet some interesting creatures along the way, like Kevin, a local exotic bird, and my favorite Dug, a talking Golden Retriever. Dug is one of the greatest characters ever, he is the character that everyone is going to want after they see the movie.

Pixar does a really good job about invoking every emotion you have when they tell the story. I dont know how they do it but it affects all ages about the same way. It is amazing that they make you feel in the movie no matter the age.

I dont really want to say to much more about the movie because I dont want to spoil it for you. But this movie is THE must see movie of the summer. It is amazing, check out the 3D like I did and you will forget you are wearing glasses. As I am writing this I am thinking about going back and seeing it again, it was that good. That is why I am giving it the highest rating that I possibly can five stars out of five.

"I know a joke, this squirrel went up to a tree and said, 'Hey I didnt store enough nuts for the winter, I'm dead.' I hate squirrels." Dug

I will no longer watch MTV!

Last night I watched a little bit of MTV's movie awards and in two words I can sum it all up for you if you missed it, "It Sucked." I may not be apart of the MTV crowd anymore now that I turned 25 but I think I should be. I grew up watching the channel, I stuck to parts that where very compelling, but some how now it has gone to shit. I have given up on them.

Instead of doing what made them unique and famous, playing Music Videos, they now go to scripted reality shows like "the Hills," "The City" and "the Real World (which is as real as me using my farts as a mode of transportation.) and "The Dual." First of all I have noticed that just about every show they have on there starts with "The" have some variety come on. Second if you are going to do a reality show make a new Real one, not one that they have to shoot the same scene over and over until they get it completely right. It is not reality when they tell you to do something over and over.

Back to the Movie Awards, I remember when they had hosts that could actually make you laugh or be entertained. But now they dig at the bottom of the barrel, Andy Samburg is funnier then me but he isnt that funny at all or even remotely entertaining. They where like shit everyone is declining us lets go with this dude.

MTV has lost it's meaning over the years and they need to get their image back. Because the shit they have on now is terrible, enough with bringing back old school "Real world" people you have done that competition thing to death, they are a bunch of egotistical morons. They make enough money traveling across the country going to bars and drinking for free because they are the supposed draw, but we all know the $1 drinks really are what the people came to see.

Cool French Music Video.

I like this video for certain reasons as you may already know. I am a guy what can I say. But I also like the direction and the music in general. I havent really seen to many music videos anymore due to the fact that MTV and VH1 would rather have stupid reality shows like the dual, and the of love series. They have completely lost their original purpose, to show new music and cool videos. I know bands still make the videos but they just dont show them. I hope you guys like it.

Is the King a King yet or just a Prince.

Tonight millions of eyes will be on game five of the Cleveland Orlando NBA series. Will LeBron take over in the game or will they fade away. This is the time that true champions come out and keep their team alive. I know they are down 3-1 in the series but it isnt done yet.

There has been a lot of hype about a possible Lebron and Kobe finals, but it looks like they spent all that advertising money on a hope and a dream. Only one of them will be making it to the finals and he works in LA. It is a general curse to start promoting something that might happen before it ever does. It is added influence to all of the other teams that they have to play against.

I know I will be wating to see if the King will rise up or will he still be a Prince.

Another really nice day.

I must admit that Boulder has had some really beautiful days since I have been here. The weekdays are always sunny with a clear view to the mountains. Every day I walk to work and I look at them. It is inspiration if you think about it, something so beautiful that is right out of your window is rediculous. Whne I was in NYC the only thing I could see is the buildings lining the street, which is pretty cool in it's own right but it doesnt have a natural beauty that mountains do.

I just hope this weather keeps up for the weekend, it always seems to take a turn for the worst on Friday. Hopefully this weekend is different.

Disappointment

Today my favorite Soccer or as the rest of the world calls it Football team lost today. I was so excited to watch the Champions League final today that I went to a bar and got ready for a good game. Manchester United versus Barcelona. I am a really big Red Devil fan due to it was the first team that I started to follow when I gave the sport a chance. I know it is like rooting for the Yankees but I like to watch the sport and follow it because of them.

The game started in Boulder around 12:45pm, so a friend and I went to The Lazy Dog off of Pearl street to watch the game. It was really packed for an afternoon game. All the TV's where on the game and people where going crazy. We where finally able to get some food and sit down in the second half but that is ok.

I got ready with my Manchester United track jacket and my ever going energy to cheer. I was one of those guys that in the middle of the bar would shout "Glory, Glory, Man United, Glory, Glory Man United." But they didnt hear me for some reason because in the first half they where completely lost. They did not look like the Red Devil Team that I am use to. At times they looked as if they never played the game before, terrible passes I mean terrible. A pass that gave up a corner kick when they didnt have to pass it back. That pass Vidic tried to give to Van Der Saar was terrible, it was way outside of the box, and he expected him to get it.

The second half got a little better substituting Tevez seemed as if it pumped more energy into the squad. But it didnt do too much. Same result they got dominated. The stars of Manchester didnt show up. The only one that did was Ronaldo and he wasnt even able to get the ball. He played way far up front in the formation and they couldnt get him the ball if his life depended on it. It is sad that he was the only ManU player to step up and do well, the rest faded away or did nothing.

Barcelona on the other hand showed up and controlled the game completely. There where times that they where distressed but the pressure didnt last for long. They soon got the ball back and shoved it to the other end of the field. I think most of their possession was in Manchesters half. At no time in the game did they not look in control. I also think Messi is one of the greatest players in the game today, he was the star of this afternoons game.

Even thought ManU lost 2-0 they are still my team. They got to the final, that is tough enough especially getting there twice in a row. There is always next year.

Go Red Devil's.

Wishing the sun would come out.

It has been five days since I last saw the sun, I am starting to wonder if it is still there or not. It has been all cloudy the last couple of days, which really puts a damper on the mood. When it is sunny out you want to do more stuff. But when it is cloudy you really dont want to go out and do anything. Well you do but then you find out that it is raining so then it sucks even more. We are a month away from May and it seems as if we are in April showers. Go away clouds, I am tempted to go up on the mountains with a high powered fan and push them west.

I am so ready to go to Chicago.

Hurry up put me on a plane and lets go. Ever since I heard from the Miami Ad School that I was going to go to Energy BBDO in Chicago I have been really antsy. I spend at least three or four of my waking hours thinking about the agency. Will I like it? What clients will I work on?

I have to block these thoughts out because it affects my work. But that is easier said then done. I am so excited I just cant hide it, I want to go, I want to go right now.

I dont know if Chicago is the city for me but I think Energy is.

Boulder Boulder

This weekend Boulder had an event, it was the Creek Festival and ended with the Boulder Boulder run. I went to it twice, once by myself and the second with some friends. To be honest I was not that impressed. It was something to do dont get me wrong but impressive it was not. It might have been because the weather didnt really want to cooperate with us being cloudy and rainy all weekend, but I just thought it was really boring. It would be way more interesting if I was a little kid, because they do have a ton of stuff to do for kids. But when you are no longer able to fit on the little rides you look for other ways to have fun. So you would keep walking until you found something to do. They did have live performances, but they didnt really make me want to stay and listen to them. I wasn't feeling it i guess. A lot of people where selling junk for a hefty price. I just dont get it, they where selling things for $60 and it looked like a child made it. But it's art, to me it looks like crap but to someone else it is a masterpiece. I just dont see it though, how can something that they mass produce be art, I am one of those people that like those one of a kind masterpieces, not something you give to a manufacturer and say hey make me a thousand.

On Monday they had the annual Boulder to Boulder 10K run. From what I understand is they had a really really good turn out for that. They have about 50,000 people run every year. But when you went you could either watch the runners or you can go look at the tents so the day really wasnt that much different, I just had friends to go with us.

bouncing back from a three day weekend

Memorial weekend is over and millions of people are making it back to work today. The three day weekend brings a lot of fun and reminds you of a time when you didnt have to slave away at a computer all day. I surprised myself, when I woke up today, I didnt think it was going to go very smoothly at all, it never seems to go my way. But for today for some reason I was up all bright and early. It usually takes me until 10am before my thoughts get in order, but around 8 I thought I was thinking clearly, I could be wrong I didnt really try and test the limits of my thinking capacity.

I think we should have more three day weekends. It seems like we work too much. You have to work about fifty or sixty hours during the week just to make good money, why dont we have more times off so people can be refreshed when they come back. A three day weekend once a month would be fantastic. Mondays are suppose to be the most unproductive day of the week, why not have it off? Why dont we have more then two weeks vacation time? If you go to any other country they have a month at least. The two guys that share the house with me are from Brazil and Germany, it is custom for them to get a month off. It would get people to be nice and relaxed and ready to work again. It sounds great to me, I am all for it.

Next stop....Chicago.

This announcement from the school comes in record time. Usually it takes a couple of more weeks for the agencies to decide where you are going to go. But today I got my answer, Energy BBDO Chicago. It was my first choice on where I wanted go, just in case you dont remember the post that I had earlier.

I know I have thought about staying at CP+B to finish my book, but that was before I got accepted. I am really, really excited to go to Chicago and produce great work. I am excited to see what I can learn and what I can do for the agency. And I am excited about being paid.

Energy BBDO get ready because I am coming to work my ass off! Thank you Energy BBDO, I wont let you down.

It's all about the Youtube baby.

Over the years Youtube has made people stars for stuff that they have done. Weither it has been cool things or really dumb things it really doesnt matter. We have had the always hilarious every time you watch him Starwars Kid, Chocolate Rain, the bringing back of a 80s pop star the rick roll and now we have the funny Keyboard Cat. It is funny and cute at the same time. Yeah the keyboard cat uses funny material to do it's jokes but it is funny even without the intro. The cat plays the keyboard so well and it looks like he is actually in the moment for it which makes it better.

Unlike the infamous Rick Roll the Keyboard cat is in the name of the video, so you know what to really expect. But every time it is just so damn funny. I want to be in the video with a Keyboard cat that is my new aspiration in life.

This is my favorite one of all.

I am happy

I am really happy right now because I just found a Jazz club in Denver that I want to go to. I really enjoy watching and listening to jazz. It is kind of a hobby of mine since I took a class in college. I wish that I was still able to play the trumpet because I would love to learn how to play jazz or even create a band. If only my parents turned me on to Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, or even Dizzy Gillespie and I might still be playing.

Damn parents screwing up my future.

America Discipline you kids!

I think America needs to learn how to discipline their kids. Look at the way America is going these little kids are starting to be evil almost right out of the crib that is why Baby discipline works the best. Because once they get a little older all hope is lost of you having control and respect from your kids. You must learn how to be stearn with them and make sure they dont give you any lip, because if they do you will be walked on for the rest of the kids life.

Review on Angels and Demons.

First and foremost I really want to read this book. I have wanted to read this book after I finished the Divinci Code. I have even bought two different copies of the book to read. I always loose them right before I am ready to read them. I only find them when I finally move to a new place.

But anyways I went to the theaters on Tuesday afternoon. Got in and waited for the show to begin. I really can not believe how much it coast for just one 20oz bottle of water, they sold them at Century theaters for $3.50, that is theater robbery. It started off really scientificy at the beginning, in a laboratory where they are looking to create something called Dark Matter. They go on to explain latter in the movie that it is the same energy that they believe created the big bang. They have a priest at the location of where they ions come together to form this partical which they latter dub as the God Partical. It gets made and the priest is communicating to the people elsewhere saying that it worked. The main woman goes and says she wants to see it and will be down. He walks out of the room for some unknown reason. When she finally gets down there she notices that someone has stolen one of the containers that is holding the partical.

In comes Robert Langdon played by one of the greatest actors on the planet, Tom Hanks. I think I would see any movie of his, and I think I have. He again plays the role of the symbolist and the Catholic Church needs his help because someone kidnapped for of the high ranking Cardinals who are favorites to become the new Pope. He agrees and goes to the Vatican. Through his mass intelligence on how to decode ancient symbols and knowledge of ancient societies.

Another great role was also put in by another one of my favorite actors Ewan McGregor. He is always believable in all his parts. He played the part of the priest that is really close to the former Pope. He has some power while they Cardinals are choosing the next Pope, because he represents the former Popes want before they pick a new one. He plays a really complex character, very compassionate, loving and caring but he also has a wild side that emerges every once and a while. He did a really good job of speaking with a light voice throughout the movie, it really makes you draw to his character.

The story takes us on a goose chase through some of the most scenic places in Rome and the Vatican City. Very beautiful camera work when it comes to displaying the arts of a medieval period. Showing that they left secrets for only the people that know what they are suppose to mean.

This movie doesnt have the codes that the first one had. It doesnt have that cool feature where when he is looking to decode something he looks at it and it comes together for him. It is way more basic, following the way that the statues are pointing. It didnt start out that way when it first started he was looking at one of Galileo's books they had water marks of secret symbols and text that where in a riddle and he had to surpass it. This was to mark the start of the journey.

I found this movie had some ups and downs, but I always wanted to stay tuned. It doesnt ask for as much attention to detail as the first one did but it ended even better than the first one. It had you find these ancient statues and things but it had a quick get. Every statue was pointing a certain way and that was they way that they had to go to stop the next murder. It got old after a while, I wish they had descriptions to make you think more. It whole movie was on this premous that the church went out and killed Illuminati members in the middle ages, for their thinking different than the church's ways. Although the church didn't like people thinking differently than them they didnt go out and kill all of them like what they tried to do with the Knights Templar. Even though the movie had it's ups and downs and parts that I didnt like it finished it off with a great ending. One that you will never see coming or at least I didnt for not reading the book.

The acting was really good in the movie, you never knew who to trust and who to take seriously. The roles and scenery where really well done. Over all I give this movie three and a half stars out of five. It was good but not great. It is one of those movies that you see once and that is good enough.

I still want to read the book.

I was wondering.

I am thinking about buying a new camera Lens for my Nikon D40. I dont know very much about camera lens because I have never bought one. I am thinking that a fisheye lens would be cool but I also think a telephoto lens would be cool as well. I am just looking for a lens that will give me a great quality picture for an average camera man. I would like to increase my photo taking skills but I really need the equipment to do so.

I went to a photo store and got the Nikon lens mag. It has many interesting things on it. I really dont know which one would be best but I think I will keep reading so I can decide which one would be the best for me.

Fun in the mountians

Yesterday a friend and I went to Estes Park Colorado to do some mountain climbing. We stopped at the side of the road where you come into Estes. It was a place that you would be able to view the town that is in the bowl of the mountains surrounding it.

At this place they have these little Squinnies or Chipmunks, I really dont know the difference between them, that would come and be friendly with you. If you sit still they will come and run all over you. You can even feed them like we did. I made sure that we brought some bread to give to the little guys.

We then walked down from the road and became engulfed in trees. Every once and a while we would come to a clearing but it didnt last for to long. We came to a clearing on a hill and that is where we decided which mountain we would climb.

On our way to the mountain we found a lot of deer heads that where just bones. I felt bugs bunny would come and try to give us false directions to the area we needed to go to. It was weired just seeing the skeleton head, there were no other bones left.

When we got to the foot of the mountain the entire vegetation changed. It was night and day different. One side had grass and brush while the mountain had more of a desert type feel to it with cactus and lots of rocks. My friend ended up sticking his hand in some cacti which didnt look very fun, but was funny at the time.

The way up the mountain was tough we kept switching directions. Some of the rocks we couldnt climb up because they where smooth and went at an angle. It took us a long time to get up to the spot that we wanted. We went to a spot where the cliff over looks the town very beautiful.

Going down was completely different. It was hard really hard. But we came down without getting hurt so that was good. And we finally made it back to where I parked the car.

We were not suppose to go where we did but we didnt see the sign no trespassing until we got back. We did pass buy a beautiful house on the way, tucked inbetween to mountains with a view of the city. Over all Mission Accomplished.
