Wow

Today the Miami Ad School sent out a list of places that we can intern at next quarter. It is half as many agencies then the last quarter. That really sucks. I only have one option if I want to live with my girlfriend in Chicago, it is an agency that i would like to go to but there is only one. But after that I really dont even know. The partner CP+B isn't even offering an internship next quarter. They are a partner and they have pulled out. I dont really know what I am going to do for next quarter but I hope I go some place.

This would have done so much better in theaters if you think about it. I would have like to see it. I feel the first one waisted hours of my life. At the end of the first one did anyone really give a shit for the dumb girl that fell into an older mans trap. I felt that she was one of those pedophiles victims. He would sneak in and watch her sleep, how creepy is that. Lets just say this 2 min sketch is millions of times more entertaining then the real movie.

I bet this whole fiasco started with someone in the white house saying, "Lets fly a 747 and a fighter jet over NYC to get really good pictures." Then waiting and watching a room full of rubber necks bob their heads up and down. Then he was like "Even better lets not tell anyone that we are going to do this." The rubber necks look over to the man in charge who is looking at them for approval then they all stand up because they are idiots.

April 27th comes around and there is two aircrafts flying over NYC at low altitude. Some take pictures while they run for cover thinking that it is another terrorist attack. They are also running for cover because there is a fighter jet right behind the 747 looking like it is going to shoot it down. It was only 8 years ago maybe our administration thought it has been long enough since the terrorist attacks to fly over NYC.

I guess this administration cares more about how our enemies (Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela) look at our government but they could give a shit about the people that actually live in and love this country. Lets open the scar of 9/11 again, lets terrify our biggest city in our country just for a god damn photo opportunity. I think someone should pay for this, an apology would be really nice, a real one this time.

I am worried about my girlfriend and she has one of these terrible things. I hope she is doing alright. But I think she might be becoming one of these snuggie fanatics. I hope it isn't the case but this is all she has talked about for the past couple of months. I think I need to do an intervention. I also hope I never see her in one.

The mile high

Every day I wake up and walk to work. It has become rutine over the past three weeks, but I still cant get over the view. Somedays staring off into the distance is better then others, but when you see them you know you are someplace special. Seeing the caps of the ones behind them still covered in the snow.

When the sun sets it casts a red and purple glow over the mountain to make your day complete. I kind of lost track where I was going with this whole thing in the middle of it because I got distracted and lost my flow. Sorry about that I know this isn't very good but I hope to write something new and authentic later. I need to start writing stories again. I was distracted by the post above.

I cant wait to see it, hopefully I will see it with my girlfriend because the first movie was our first date, and being a romantic that I am I want to see it with her. The first one was hard because you couldnt stop laughing so it wasnt a traditional date movie but it seems to have won her over because I have been dating her for two years now.

Boxing gym kicked my ass

Last Wed I went for a workout at a boxing gym here in Boulder. I know I am a little out of shape and I want to get healthier so I went. It was one of the best workouts that I have ever had. I couldn't do most of it because I am not use to using some of those muscles. We showed up to the gym a little late so we didnt do all of the work out but we did a lot. I think we only missed one or two things. I understand why boxers are always so toned, because the workout is really hard. After a couple of hours I have been feeling the effects of it for the last two days. My body is still sore and I am going to go back tonight and workout again. Wish me luck.

Sunday Night Eats at the Bakers St Pub.

Sunday April 19th was the first time that I ever went to the Sunday Night Eats Dinner Club in Boulder. I couldn't believe the massive turn, the pub gave us half of their restaurant.

As I walked up to the restaurant they have the old fashion red phone booth that you would see around the UK. Little did I know that it was going to be the start of many interesting things in the restaurant. Because as soon as I walked in I found the Irish Crest of the restaurant above the entry doors. It had everything from Unicorns to the Fleur de lis. But the coolest thing about the restaurant in my opinion was the sword that was above the tables. It was like the one that Frodo carried in "Lord of the Rings" except it didn't glow when goblins where present, or maybe it does and Bakers St Pub is a safe house from goblins which would be a good thing to know. Anyplace that has a sword gets mad props in my book.

When I got there the pub started to drop appetizers in the middle of the group. They started off with the bread and humus combination. They set it out really nicely, with all of the pita bread around the humus then covered the humus with grated cheese, green onions and red peppers. Not being a really big fan of humus I tentatively tried it, because I didn't think that It was humus when I started. It was actually really good, it didn't taste like a lot of the humus that I have had before, it had a little kick of chipoltle in it. I wasn't the only one that liked it, many of the SNEDC went up for seconds and thirds.

The second appetizer they set out was a bunch of mini summer sausages were in a brown cream sauce. I think that out of all of the appetizers this was my favorite. The sauce was a complement to the sweetness of the sausage. It wasn't the most beautiful dish that I have ever seen and it would never win any beauty pageants but great food never has to. It was kind of funny that they surrounded it by lettuce to bring more color to the plate because without it they just looked like little turds. Once you get past the sight of it and try it there will be an explosion of sausage in your mouth. It is highly recommended.

Unfortunately the last two apps where good but didn't really make the restaurant stand out. Sweet and Sour Chicken and potato skins really do not separate themselves from the rest of the appetizers. They were good but not great, nothing that other restaurants don't have.

I am new to Boulder and really don't know to many people. With all of my travels I have gotten use to eating alone, but it is never as fun as eating in a group. Everyone was really friendly and willing to start up a conversation. You cant really do that when you eat alone because the people at the other table will look at you like you are a weirdo, and that is coming from experience.

When it came down to order people picked many different things on their tasty menu. Some ordered a burger, fish and chips, meat loaf and shepherds pie. I ordered the meat loaf. They really give you a good size potion; two filets of meat that are as big as your hand. They had garlic mash potatoes underneath the meat loaf. I loved the mash because they left some skin and chunks of potatoes in it. To me that is always the best, it adds extra texture to it. They topped it all in gravy and onion rings. I thought it was good but it could have been better. I will give them the benefit of the doubt because I did a lot of talking when it was first served to me so it could have lost some of the flavor as it started to chill down. But I wasn't disappointed in it at all, it is something that I would go back there and have again, and for me that says a lot.

Roland told the table, "They have the greatest fish and chips here," before anyone ordered. So many of the people at the table went with his recommendation. When they brought it out they had 2 huge filets of fish, definitely the biggest fish and chips I have seen. Everyone around me got it and decided to make me jealous; I dont know why but I don't like to order what other people order. The fish looked really good and everyone around me said it tasted really good. I think I should go back there just on others recommendations just to try it, because I love fish and chips.

When everyone was done with dinner they where full, but not the full that oh my god my stomach is going to explode if I don't loosen my pants button. For as big as the plates where it really didn't seem like they took up to much space in the belly. But there was no room for the best part of dinner, desert. The good thing for me about this restaurant is that it makes me want to come back, so next time I could try the desert.

Class work

So our first assignment for class is to rebrand the former icon Snapple. You think this would be easy but it is really hard. Earlier this week we showed our teacher about 20-30 ideas and he only liked 2 or 3. He told us to go back and find something better. Find the truths about it. That is easier then it seems, it is hard to find the truths about things on the internet. I really can not wait to work in an agency when they have people that do all of the research for you. So you just have to read their brief and go from there.

I am getting frustrated right now because nothing seems to be working. All of our ideas right now are falling flat. This really fucking sucks.

I have to give Carrie Prejean props.

Miss California Carrie Prejean has earned a lot of respect from me this week. Usually you think of beauty queens as being dumb and will do anything or anyone to win. But Carrie has given me a different opinion about these women. She isn't like that Miss South Carolina who didn't make any sense a couple of years ago. She is actually intelligent because she didn't try to win by being something she isn't.

She was asked if she believed gays should be married? She answered the douche bag that gave that question Perez Hilton, who shouldn't be on TV no less judging things her answer. He didn't like what he heard, many believe that her answer cost her the crown. She believed that marriage should be between a man and a woman. She could have gone the popular way, the way that he wanted and everyone would praise her for it, but she went the different way. You really have to respect her on that, she isn't the only one that thinks same sex shouldn't be able to marry, many in this country does.

As for the Douche bag Perez Hilton he should be unbias because he is a judge and judges shouldnt let personal opinion clout judgment. You can see it on his face that he is pissed that she didn't make a statement supporting his belief. Perez not everyone is a liberal puppet, not everyone follows the rest of the crowd. You have lived in this world long enough to find that out or maybe you are the real dumb one. I am surprised you took it like you did getting that pissy look on your face. I know what you were trying to do, you were trying to make a statement for Gay marriage and when you ginny pig didn't allow you to do it, you got mad. Then to go and post a video of you slandering this girl was complete bull shit. You are a pathetic piece of shit. She took the question well, she didn't bash you our the gays in any way, and you had to do that. I hope that someone gets tired of your shit and kicks your ass, because it has been a long time coming and you deserve it. You should be ashamed of yourself for the way you have acted about this.

In this country everyones opinions should be listen to with respect. Everyone thinks differently, you are not always right and you are not always wrong. What you believe in should be what you believe in. No one should change the way you think. It took a lot of courage for this girl to tell it as she sees it, she has stuck to her guns even today on the morning show. I say good for her, and give me a call later.

A good movie if they ever make it.

Today for some reason I feel like talking about movies. I dont know what it is about today, but that is all that I am thinking about. It could have something to do with the weekend where I was talking about movies with my roommates or something. We were talking about comic book movies, and which ones should be produced.

One of the first ones I would like to see hollywood get their ass in gear on is Captain America. Protector of good and a symbol of a nation. He is one of the rare heros that really doesnt have a super power, he was dropped into a vat to make him stronger, which it did but he didnt become superman strong. He is a really interesting person and he was huge back in the day but he is still relevant now. The only problem that I have seen with imdb on this topic is who will play him. I think they have the script and everything but they dont know who would play him. My personal opinion on that sight is not to get the wrestler John Cena to be the character, just because he is one of the worst if not the most boring actors to watch, you cant even pretend that you are entertained. I would actually prefer to see a young no named actor to play this part. Unfortunately I don't see this movie being made anytime the the foreseeable future. Hollywood hates America. It is a simple fact, they want us to conform and be like everyone else. It would be a good movie though so I hope they get passed their bios and let us have it.

Another movie that I am really surprised they havent even thought about is Wonder woman. She would be fantastic to watch on the silver screen. Anytime you have an extremely hot babe showing cleavage and legs everyone wins. Not only would guys watch it but more importantly women would watch this too. She is a badass woman that can empower others. She can continue to be a beacon of light for women in the 21st century. There is only one person that I would see playing her, Megan Fox. Imagine her with a gold crown, wrist shields and the golden lasso of truth, she would look just like her. If this movie is done right I could see it being the highest grossing movie ever! Girlfriends wouldn't have to drag their boyfriends to the movie theater to see a chick flick, they would want to go.

Here is an idea for another super hero movie, dont have the super hero be the main character. Follow a villain lets say someone like Venom. Having a different perspective on a cool character would be really cool. Have the super hero come in and save the day very once and a while but who ever said that the super hero always has to win? I am not saying kill spider-man in the movie, but what if he cant stop him, or he would have to regroup. It wouldnt just have to be Venom, there are so many other cool characters that you want to see. I would have said they should do it off of the only super villain that had his own graphic novel "Joker" but Heith is no longer with us so what would be the point of it. I dont think anyone would be able to play a more interesting Joker then him. Sorry other actors he just brought something different to the part and made it his. Just having a cool villain as the lead would be interesting, that is all I am saying.

Movie Buzz Powdered Blue

Jessica Biel is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. She looks like the girl next door that you really really want to meet, cool personality and just smoking hot. But anyways she is going to be in a new movie that is gathering a lot of buzz. It is called "Powder Blue." It is going to be released on May 8th. Maybe I shouldnt say anything more, my girlfriend is coming to Boulder that weekend and I want to see the movie, and I say stuff about it she wont want too. But I am going to say it anyway. Jessica plays a stripper in this movie, I know what you are thinking, "Playing a stripper for a movie doesnt mean you have to take your clothes off, she is going to pull a Portman." But wait you're wrong, she gets naked and dances around. She is in it for the art and it just happens that her body will be the canvass. Everyone will see why Justin Timberlake is dating her, or are they even dating anymore I dont know.

Besides this the movie sounds interesting. It is about a mortician that falls in love in love with her. I dont know if she gets with him but I always found that morticians are a little stiff on the conversation, which will make it all the more amusing. There is also a Transsexual hooker, a suicidal priest and a government agent in this film which will make this very interesting.

I am making a prediction that this movie is going to be the number one in the box office for two or maybe even three weeks. This is not going to be just for the nudity but for the story, although nudity always helps, hence Hally Berry in "Swordfish."

Today I have signed up for a portfolio site.  It is going to be called BookofLouis.com it is going to be sweet.  You wont be able to get on it now but sooner or later it will have stuff that will actually be interesting on it.  

Back to Quiznos.

Today I went back to Quiznos, but this time I decided to try something new.  I tried the Torpedo that is only $4.  Out of the five different kinds that you could choose I picked the chicken pesto.  I must say it is good.  The torpedo is an interesting thing because it is a foot long and three inches wide, so not that big.  It looked like it was a pain in the ass just for them to make because it was so small.  The toppings are limited due to the space that you have on the sandwich.  That is the major draw back.  Subway has them beat on this by far, that is unless they make it bigger.  I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with a mini torpedo and advertise it as a snack.

My overall review is that it is just ok, you get more of your moneys worth at Subway.  But if you are not that hungry or hate Subway then it is perfect.

I just found this video.  It is interesting, do voodoo dolls move like the people?  Are they aware of what is to come?  The way that the doll gives its life for the other is interesting to say the least.  It shows that the dolls have some sense of conscience that goes on in their cotton ball head.  

I would like to think that Voodoo is really but then again you never really know.  If it does I want to learn it, I know I am not from the Bijou but I really dont think it should matter.  I am French and in the movies the person that does the voodoo is Creole which does have some French in them.  My first act would be to make a zombie or several zombies just to see if they walk or run.

Never order food you cant see made

This was posted on the April 13th. Now a days it has to be rule of thumb to see your food made in front of you. Other wise disgruntled employees will mess with you stuff. Sorry Domino's but I bet this has happened more than once in several different locations. The people that they hire don't really want to work their. Lets face it they are young and dumb or just straight dumb. There are good people that work their don't get me wrong, but in this world you never hear about the good anymore.

These people have already been fired, and they are probably going to be on the wrong side of a law suite. Domino's has also made a public statement about the incident.

I dont believe this is an actual ad for eHarmony but lets face it, it's funny has hell.  She wouldn't be the greatest spokes model but she is young recently single and hot, what more could you possibly ask for.  Be careful guys and galls you get a lot of baggage with this one.  But at least she was nice enough to be upfront about it.

What's the Big deal?

Today Isiaha Thomas was named the head coach of FIU.  Big deal.  This school will take him out of the spotlight.  It is a smart move by the school giving a legend a coaching spot, but will it work out?  He has coached in the NBA with the Pacers and the Knicks but never on the college level.  

I guess what really irritates me is that ESPN is really covering this with a big article.  Like it really matters what FIU basketball does, I didn't even know they had a team until today.  I knew about their football program because they are always slotted in at the beginning of the season so people can walk all over them.  The only real time ESPN should cover a coaching change is when one of the big schools is looking or firing, FIU is not one of them.  They like to pick on Isiaha which from what he has done I can't blame them.  He has done a terrible job as a coach and a manager in the NBA, look what he did to the Knicks in general.  

FIU is crazy for getting this guy all he is going to do is recruit guards with attitude problems.  Then it will come back to bite them in the butt.  If he has three good seasons there in a row he is gone.  I dont really see much of an upside with Isiaha at the helm.

I forgot how good Quiznos is.

After seeing the long long line for a simple sub at Subway my partner and I decided my money and time would be best spent somewhere else.  Not saying Subway doesn't make good food, we just thought you shouldn't have wait twenty minutes for a sandwich.  We stopped by Quiznos and got in and out in a matter of seconds.  

I got the peppercorn steak sandwich with provolone, sauteed onions, lettuce, jalapeno, and black olives.  It was good, I don't know why I don't go there more often.  I haven't had a Quiznos sub in five years at least.  It never really appeals to me.  But that needs to change.  

I also bought some of the best chips ever, Miss Vickers Sea Salt and Vinegar.  I love these chips and no matter where I go I always have to get them.  I like other salt and vinegar chips but these are always my favorite, I think it is because they use more vinegar then others but I could be wrong.

I washed this down with the greatest cola on the planet.  Pepsi.  To be honest Pepsi makes any meal better.

All in all I had a complete lunch.  MMMM...Tasty

Tila should buy more security.

Myspace made star Tila Tequila had an interesting run in last night.  Around 2am this was posted on her Twitter page 

"I just broke into her house, killed her and her dog.  Logged on to twitter to tell you guys.  She was signed in already.  Tila Tequila is dead."

She latter came on to twitter to confirm that someone broke into her house and went through her stuff.  A couple of rooms had stuff broken in it and she ended up finding her dog in the trunk of her car.  She came on to twitter to tell everyone that she is alright, that she is dealing with a crazy stalker and she will be moving soon. 

The price of fame is a bitch, people are crazy out there.  Breaking into houses and stealing stuff just so it can be an idol or something.  But soon that never gets to be enough soon they want to be remembered, they want their name to go hand in hand with the celebrities.  If I was famous I would have a pack of bears patrol my yard, I wouldn't feed them so they would be extra hungry for crazy people.

Something to do, Finally.

We just got our first assignment at CP+B and I am really excited.  Looking for any information about the product is always one of the hard things to do, but once you have it you have it.  Some products are harder than others but that is what makes it thrilling to come up with ideas.  I know my time here will make my book the best that it can be.

Someone should send a letter to Obama saying that the US bows to no one.

Is it just me or does this disturb anyone else. A nation that started by the famous words "All men are created equal," have a President bow to a foreign leader. This isn't in Japan or eastern Asia where bowing is a customary sign of respect and both parties do it, this is in the middle east where it is a sign of power. This Great Country was founded by men that believed that no one should ever bow to the other. Men and women have fought and died for the right to be equal you cant throw it all away.

Bowing is a show of weakness, it is telling the other person that you are not on the same level. I wonder how this photo is viewed in the middle east right now. Showing that we have a weak president because he is bowing to one of theirs.

Next time Obama just shake the man's hand. The only time that I ever want to see you bow to another man is in the Far East.

Starting my new internship.

This is the week that I start my new internship at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, one of the most premiere agencies in the world today.  Unless you haven't watched TV or gone on the internet in the past decade you have seen them.  They own TV right now, just about ever commercial break will have one or two of their ads.

I am really excited to get started at such a great company.  It will help me evolve as a copywriter, and as an ad man.  I hope that by the time that I am done here a little bit of their golden touch rubs off on me.

So I was a little right about last night.

I knew that the game between UNC and MSU for the national title game wasn't going to be close, but I did think that it was going to be closer then what it was. It was unbelievable. The only time MSU lead was at the beginning of the game. Then it was a blow out. Congrats to UNC they earned it.

Surprise surprise Jordan is in the Hall of Fame.

Michael Jeffery Jordan is the greatest Pro basketball player ever (I think Pistol Pete is the greatest college player).  His career scoring average was 30.12 making him the player with the highest points per game average in NBA history.  Third on the all time scoring list behind Malone and Jabbar.  And unlike those two he retired twice when he was still in his prime.

The most dynamic player of three lifetimes.  No one will ever come close to being as dominate as this man.  The players today are good, Kobe, Labron, Dwade, but they cant even hold a flame to Jordan.

It is no surprise that his Airness has been inducted in the Basketball hall of fame.  The only thing I have to say is, it is about damn time.

The Cubs Season opener.

I need to make one thing clear, I dont like to watch baseball.  I think that it is second the most boring sports you could ever watch (first is golf).  I would rather watch two cows humping each other, which I did on the way to Boulder yesterday.

But anyways, if I watch baseball I only watch the Cubs.  I love the Cubs, growing up at my grandfather's house during the summer made me a fan.  We would sit in the kitchen eat cookies and listen the Cubs.  Harry Carry and his crazyness is fond memories of my childhood.  The first song that I ever sang was probably the seventh inning stretch, I use to be able to sing that thing back and forth blind folded.

This is their year.  The curse is over, Lets go Cubbies.

College Basketball is over for the year

The last game of College basketball is tonight.  I know it is really sad, what am I going to watch baseball, forget about it.  It is always a sad day when the ball stops bouncing, but I guess I will just have to wait for next year.

Tonight's game is going to be interesting.  I wonder how many times they are going to say that Michigan State is giving hope to all those who are in Detroit.  How much is this final four really helping Detroit?  It isn't going to change because of it, but it did make someone rich, or keep them rich if you really want to think about it.  

The game, I think is going to be an OK game.  North Carolina (one of my favorite teams) will have control throughout the game.  I think they will jump out to a fifteen point lead some time in the first half.  I dont think Michigan State will do as poorly as they did a couple of months ago against UNC but I dont see them winning it.  I dont want them to win it either.  They will keep it close but North Carolina will always be in control.  The final score will be something like 79-65.
