Chatroulette

There are many things in this world that capture peoples interests. One of these just came out last November. Its name is Chatroulette. It is where you can video chat with anyone anywhere randomly. You don't have to know the person or anything. You can either right them or if you have a mic in your computer talk to them. If you don't want to talk to the person or are finished talking to them just hit next. It takes you to the next person. The with problem chatroulette is, there is a lot of junk showing. If you can go through 10 people without seeing someone whacking off you are doing really well, but the next time you get nexted or hit next I bet you'll get some dudes junk.

Recently the advertising agencies have started to use their brand characters on the site. The Burger King has popped up as well as the Travelocity Gnome. Will this work or will it fail. I don't see how this wouldn't be able to help I mean they are giving links so the person on the other end can get what they are selling or the coupon. I think this well be a hot new thing for a while.

Good move by CP+B. I think they were the first to put their product on it with the king. Thought of it before you did it though. Even though it doesn't count cause I didn't do it. I thought of it though.

Nothing really to do.

Since I last pitched an idea to a client there has been nothing for me to do so far. Oh by the way I did get a job a couple months ago and I am now in Dallas Texas at an agency called Tribal DDB. It has been really good so far. I had to hit the ground running and ended up getting some road burn on me but I am finally settled and officially ready to rock.

This is funny

This is Southpark's teaser for the new episode that is coming out this week. I really want to watch it because of the other video that I have posted on here. Ever since they made fun of Gingers (red heads) people this kid has been on a tirade. Now that they have made fun of him just makes it so much better. It's funny to think that this kid thinks he can change peoples viewing habits by boycotting Southpark. He basically calls for everyone who is offended by the show not to watch it. Really dumb-ass. You don't think the people that are already offended are still watching the show? Do you really think you are the guy that will lead all of the gingers to victory and away from ridicule? Come on man. Keep making videos because they are great to make fun of but stop thinking that people watch your shit because they agree with you. They are watching to make fun of you.

SNL is finally going to be good again, well not really just this week.

Last week sucked completely, Jennifer Yopez sucks at everything she does and should give up. At least the show is still trying to be relevant, by bringing in funny people for once.

Words of wisdom

I like this guy.

Two down 13 left

I have finished ,The Road is written by Cormac McCarthy. I started reading this book on a recommendation of my mother who really enjoyed it.

This book is set in post apocalyptic times about a man and a boy. The earth has turned to ash and the people that are remaining are untrustworthy while the father and his boy try to go south to warmer pastures. Their story of survival is an interesting one. They try really hard to stay out of site of anyone by taking rests away from the road and hiding from people that pass by. Pushing a cart with all of their belongings they find it difficult to stay out of sight for too long.

More interesting to me is how it is written. It isn't written like a traditional book, where it has chapters and page after page of text. Everything is written in short simple paragraphs. They give you the point and a brief description without going super far into it. Cause it isn't a story about the end of the world but about a boy and his father. This made the book really quick and easy to read. Cause really there were no stopping points that you can put the book down. It's just paragraph after paragraph with no real stopping point.

One thing I didn't like about the book is that I had to go back on the diaolog and reread it to see who was talking when. You might find this crazy but he doesn't use he said the boy said too often. Which would get me confused. And when they would talk to a new character it made it even harder to follow.

Over all this book is just OK. Not worth making a movie out of it. I really think it is a stretch to make one but I am not hollywood. The writing style itself is the reason to read the book.

Book of Eli.

Last night I went out to watch the book of Eli staring Denzel Washington. It is about a man heading west in apocalyptic times. A war destroyed the world making the sun blinding.

You follow a lone character through his journey into a town that is run by a power hungry man. I wouldn't say the character was bad he was doing what was best for his town, and him. He sends people out to look for a book which he considers a weapon. Eli, Denzels character has the book he wants, but he wont let him have it. He even has the book memorized but will fight to the death for it.

In between the light dialog there is some action, but other than that it is just of a man walking. It is really not that good of a movie. When I was done watching it I felt as if I wasted my time. I was entertained a little bit but since the story was so slow it really got me bored and that boredom really wore me out. I didn't like the character Eli and his mystery reveal at the end of the movie. It seemed that they wanted to be a lot like the sixth sense but not as cool. I was like why didn't he just give up the book. And the book it self was the 'reason' the world ended as they knew it.

I give this movie 2 stars out of five. And would recommend to watch it when it comes out on tv, don't spend money for it cause it isn't worth it. Bad performance all together.

One down 14 to go.

This past week I have been reading "Boone's Lick," by Larry McMurtry. I must say the book was good and interesting. It is about a family in 1866 Missouri going on a journey to find a dead beat dad that is out in the west. This is a simi western story. I say that because there is no duels and outlaw stuff just a journey.

I really liked the characters, it was written as if they were real. No character was over the top or unbelievable.

I recommend it.

Only in Chicago.

I must say I would have never found this if it wasn't for the wonderful Fail Blog, they deserve all of the credit. I do know that it is no longer on google maps, I tried and tried to take a look at 6436 S. Oakley Ave and nothing would come up. Well it did but what you want to see is skipped over. They go six or seven houses away when you press forward, but you can still see the man in the white shirt and the kid walking on the side walk. This can happen anywhere but this one happened in Chicago, one of the toughest cities in the US.

I wonder what else you would be able to find on google maps?

Tired of this weather.

For some reason Global Warming has not come to Des Moines yet. With another day of heavy snow flowed by sub zero temperatures tomorrow prove my point. This is the third or fourth time in the past month when travel is not advised anywhere in the metro. It has been ridiculous and annoying at the same time.

I like snow don't get me wrong, it's nice, fluffy and really light. But when there is nothing to do with it, it starts to suck. Not to mention a couple of days later it turns to ice. Making it seem like another ice age has hit. The snow wouldn't be to bad if it didn't turn to ice.

We have had enough. Snow find another way to go across the country, or lets have some mountains sprout up. So do us a favor and tell global warming to come to Des Moines.

Posting is so easy

I have been trying to get my girlfriend to start a blog. She always comes to me in the middle of the work day trying to be entertained. Sometimes I am busy and/or don't have anything to write about.

I told her, I would with hold this blog until she finally created one. It is day one so far and it is tough going. She wants to start a journal just not a blog cause she is scared of having people read her opinions. I keep telling her the people that read the blog don't have to know who it is by unless you want them to know.

Hopefully she starts one soon.

Cera maybe a dick!

I really dont know, I hope he isn't. He seems like a cool dude in his movies. But it seems all of his fame has gone to his head in this clip. Maybe they were shooting it for extra footage but it really doesn't seem like it.

My new years resolution.

Every year about this time I start something only to give it up later on in the year, like lets say February. But it never stops me from making a resolution for the next year. You would think someone would learn their lesson after years and years of not following through with their resolution. But nope not me.

This year I have decided my resolution will be to read 15 books. Yes I said books. I am not much of a book reader, I start one get about half way through it and then loose it not to be found for months later. This time it is going to be different. I will finish these book and I will keep you involved in them.

My first book is yet to be decided at this point but by the end of the week you should know.
