What is this world coming too.
I really can not believe students in America are having a big hissy fit over something that happened 500 years ago. I understand that when Columbus came over he brought a wave of devastation on the people that were living here. But you also have to look at what else he brought 'Hope.' Without Columbus this great country or continent might not have been found. The world would be completely changed if it wasnt for this man. He only made four trips to "The New World" and was jailed and died in a debtors prison. It was the people after him that really went in to extinguish the Natives. But that is just Darwinism, it happens.
I will say one thing about the video people knew the world was round way before Columbus went off. Aristotle was the one that said the world is not flat. They didnt know how long it really was. The fear was they would run out of provisions in the middle of the ocean. The reason why people think that the world thought it was flat was because of a simple little book that was written to attack the Catholic Church. I will also say that to the day that Columbus died in 1506 he never knew he found a new continent. He thought he was in India, he was lost.
I just dont understand changing holidays just because of something people did a long long time ago. The man should be commemorated for finding a place where people can be free.
