SuperBowl madness

I am excited for the superbowl this year.  I hope that it is a really good game like last year.  Last years game between the Patriots and Giants was unbelievable.  I never thought the Pats where going to loose a game last season and it just happens that the only blemish that they had was in the very last game of the year.  But this year is different, we dont have a team trying to reach for perfection, or set themselves in history as one of the all time greats.  We have two teams not great but good all the same.  One is a classic underdog, before they came into these playoffs they only won like one playoff game in the teams history, sixty years ago.  And the other, a defensive powerhouse that has struck fear in the hearts of many QBs.

This game is not going to be a high scoring game, or a great offensive game but it is going to be close.  It is going to be a battle of two tough defenses.  It should be very exciting to watch the hard hits and the guys flying around everywhere.

Another reason why I am interested in the superbowl is to watch the commercials.  These Iconic commercials that everyone will be praising or mocking thing next day.  Maybe we see some brilliance or maybe we wont.  You never know.

Really good restaurant for lunch

For the past two days I have gone to the Isle Thai restaurant for lunch.  I know I know I need to find a new place but its so good.  I went by myself the first and had a very pleasureable experience.  I got the Pad Thai and the chicken and shrimp steamed dumplings because it is buy a meal and get an app for free.  I washed some of the best Pad Thai I have ever had down with some green tea.  My bill came and it had to be over $15 for you to use your card.  So I ordered desert because I was five dollars short.  Banana's wrapped in an egg roll shell, honey and a pink ice cream.  This was absolutely amazing as well, capped the meal off really well.

Today I went with Virgina and Gustavo two other interns, back to the area.  It's not a far walk from where I intern at so might as well.  We were looking for a restaurant in the West Village and I told them that I ate there yesterday and it was good.  They wanted to try.  So today I had Summer roll app and Drunken noodles.  Washed that down with another hot tea called Japanese Brown Rice.  That was good as well.

I highly recommend this restaurant.  Some of the best Thai I have ever had

Black Dynamite

I just watched a trailer for "Black Dynamite" A Sundance film, and it is awesome.  Karate, guns and naked women.  Hell even Captain Kangaroo is in it so it has to be good.  It is a story that is based in the 70's and he is riding the streets of drug dealers.  He is like a bad mama jama shaft.

katrina darrell is a genius or just likes to wear swim suits, I dont mind

If you never saw the bikini girl from American Idol you must have been under a rock for the past couple of days. There was no way she want going to make it on that show. they need sex to make guys want to watch it with their gf. If she keeps showing up in a bikini I will definitely keep watching. She knew she was going to make it on the show, but it was genius to wear a bikini because everyone will remember. She set up a website and has gotten a lot of hits. Maybe she could convince Casey Carlson to preform in a bikini as well.

I am glad I still have school

Well for now that is.  The beauty about being a student is that your responsibility is limited.  The bad part about it is that you have had enough schooling and just want to get out to work so you can retire.  So when moments like the one that happened today at the agency that I am interning for happens it makes me sad and happy.  Sad for the people that are losing their job but happy that I dont have one to lose right now.  So let the student loans keep adding up.

While they delayed my flight they stole my pants from under me.

Last thurs I was suppose to move from Des Moines to NYC.  I even woke up early to get on my flight that was suppose to leave from Des Moines International Airport (I really don't believe this airport is international because it really only redirects flights to MSP, Detroit, Chicago, ST Louis, and so on but that is a different subject) to Detroit at 10:10.  So I got there checked my bags that cost me $105 because NWA has a $15 followed by a $90 fee because it was over weight.

But of course my plane got delayed by an hour and a half.  I missed my connection to JFK, but that was OK, I like the detroit air port.  This is only the second time I had been there but I think it is a cool place.  So NWA transferred me over to Delta, because they didn't have any more flights from detroit to jfk.  So I waited and waited for a plane to go to JFK, it became delayed then delayed even more until they finally cancelled the flight all together.

While everyone was waiting in the line that wouldnt move to get their tickets changed, I walked over to the counter that was boarding, there was no line and no one was even boarding any more.  They put me on the plane, in fact it was the one they were boarding.  My new destination to get a connection to NY was Atlanta.  I had to run across the airport to get on the plane to LaGuardia.  As soon as got on the plane it took off.  It was the only plane for the day that I didn't have to wait for.

When I went to the baggage claim to pick up my over weight bag.  And it didn't make it.  The people who are in charge of that sort of thing said it was in JFK and that they will have it delivered to me the next day.  They delivered it to my apt.  That was awesome.  I opened it all excited cause I could finally change out of the clothes I traveled and walked all over NY in.  Open it put everything away and some of the new cloths I bought right before I came were gone.  DELTA STOLE MY PANTS!  A brand new pair of jeans that I never got a chance to wear, gone.  So they made me wait and the stole my pants right out from under me.

first post

I am not going to lie to you, I am an advertising student currently going to the Miami Ad School.  Even though I am a student there I never stepped foot in Miami, thats because I spent my first year in Minneapolis.  I know, I know 'Why didnt you go to Miami?' and the only thing I could say is, I like Minneapolis, alllll year round.  The reason that I chose the school was because after you spend a year at a "home base" you are able to have classes or internships throughout the world; with the schools help of course.  I was able to obtain an internship in NYC.

This blog is going to be about everything and nothing, my experiences of living in a city that I have never visited, my thoughts whether they are right or wrong, or any stories that I just feel like telling.

I hope to write at least 2 or 3 entries every week so stay tuned.
